N.I., Doctor of Philosophy since 1971, Doctor of Science since 1991, Professor since 2001, has over 200
scientific publications in Russian and International Journals. Larionova
N.I. actively cooperates with foreign colleagues and has joint
publications with scientists from the USA, France, Germany & Cuba. Hirsch index that quantifies both the
actual scientific productivity
and the apparent scientific impact of a scientist is 12. Larionova
N.I. has founded a novel trend at Chemistry department in immobilized
proteins usage in developing prolonged & targeted protein delivery
systems.
The scientific group headed by Larionova N.I. has completed a number of major studies in kinetics & mechanism of highly specific protein-protein interactions; structure and functioning of cathepsin G-like proteinases; molecular design of protein inhibitor conjugates; encapsulation of proteins, enzymes & poorly soluble anticancer agents; construction of structural elements for the endo-cardial electrode pacemakers containing dexamethasone. Scientific developments of Larionova N.I. are protected by 10 USSR Author's Certificates, 4 Russian, 2 foreign & 1 international PCT Patents. For the last 10 years 17 grants including RFBS, NATO, The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation were awarded the research group. Larionova N.I. is a member of Controlled Release Society, Bioencapsulation Research Group, the Board of Trustees & the Council of Experts of I.V.Berezin Foundation. Larionova N.I. is a reviewer for Boichemistry Moscow, Biochimia et Biophysica Acta, J. Nanosci. Nanotech., Current Medicinal Chemistry, J. Pharmacy and Pharmacology, member of the Editorial Boards of J. Drug Delivery Science and Technology, Acta Pharmaceutica Sciencia. In 1999 Larionova N.I. was the Co-chairman of the Organizing Committee of an international symposium "Lipid and Surfactant Dispersed Systems". N.I.Larionova pays much attention to work with undergraduate & postgraduate students. 4 students and 2 PhD-students were awarded I.V.Berezin prize for their works carried out under her supervision. Larionova N.I. is the author of 6 manuals. 29 students and 9 PhD-students have completed their degrees under the supervision of N.I.Larionova (see section "Graduates"). Selected articles: 1.
