Professor McQuail is one of the world-renowned media theorists and an author of a famous theory of communication. His popular book “Mass Communication Theory” withstood six editions and is on the readings list of journalism students, lecturers and media researchers in many different countries.





Паоло Манчини.jpgPaolo Mancini is Professor at the Department of Political Science at the University of Perugia, Italy. He is an expert in the comparative analysis of national media systems. Together with Professor Professor Daniel C. Hallin, USA, Professor Mancini developed a classification of media systems based on the interaction of media and political institutions of the country. Their book ?Comparing Media Systems: Three Models of Media and Politics? became a handbook for many media scholars and lecturers across the world.





Ханну Ниеминен.jpgHannu Nieminen is Professor of Media and Communication Policy at the University of Helsinki, Finland. He is an editor-in-chief of the academic journal ?Tiedotustutkimus? since 2005, full member of Nordicom (Nordic Information Centre for Media and Communication Research) since 2010. Professor Nieminen has been chief organizer of numerous research seminars and conferences, including Radio Days and Digital Convergence and Public Service at the University of Turku, European Public Sphere(s) and Spaces of Democracy at the University of Helsinki and others.





Каарле Норденстренг.jpgKaarle Nordenstreng is Professor Emeritus at the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Tampere, Finland. He was a consultant to UNESCO, the vice-president of the International Association for Media and Communications Research (IAMCR), head the Department of Journalism at the University of Tampere. Currently Professor Nordenstreng leads a research project ?Media Systems in Flux: The Challenge of the BRICS Countries? aimed at the analysis of journalistic media systems and cultures of the BRICS countries.

He is an expert in the study of social transformations of post-communist countries. For a long time he worked at the Institute of Sociology of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Since 2014 he is Professor at the Department of Media Theory and Economics at the Faculty of Journalism, Lomonosov Moscow State University.






де Бенс.jpgEls De Bens is Professor Emeritus at the Ghent University, Belgium. She founded MICT in 2004. She is still involved in several MICT-projects and she is active as a media consultant. Until February 2008 she has been chairing the Flemish Media Council, and she still is a member of several media policy commissions. She has been involved into a number of international expert evaluation commissions (Switzerland, UK, Netherlands, Germany and Portugal).
