Scientific activities:
Studies of physical chemistry of processes at surface and in solids. Principal directions of scientific investigations are related to studies of kinetics and mechanisms of molecular processes (adsorption, desorption) and solid phase transformations, role of defects in solids in these processes. Main emphasis is placed on investigations of transformations in simple metal oxides (zinc, aluminum, silicon, etc.), as well as synthesis of complex oxides by thermal treatment in water vapors (thermal vapor treatment - hydrothermal process at clement conditions: temperature 150 - 420Аб, water vapor pressure 2 - 300 atm). Detailed investigation of transformations in system Al2O3 - H2O yielding boehmite (AlOOH) and corundum (a-Al2O3) in pure and alloyed state. Study of synthesis at thermal vapor conditions of complex oxides: yttrium - aluminum garnet (Y3Al5O12), lithium niobate (LiNbO3), barium hexaferrite (BaO.6Fe2O3),zinc aluminate (ZnAl2O4), zinc silicate (Zn2SiO4). Photoluminescence, UV, visible and IR absorption spectroscopy are used in order to observe processes of ordering - disordering of structures and variations in states of point defects. Results of these investigations allowed to elaborate techniques of influence on structure formation in products and to control of their properties.

Educational activities:
regular guidance of students performing their year and degree works on techniques of using IR spectrometers, photoluminescence spectrometers, electronic microscopes, as well as on technique of carrying out processes at thermal vapor conditions. Guidance of post graduate students and students preparing their theses.
