The causes of questionable innovations are analyzed, including the consequences of globalization, income inequality, consumption stratification, orientation only on profit, and utilization of conventional economic criteria and principles. These problems are illustrated on the example of the food and pharmaceutical products. The questions of food quality control and technical regulation and some others are discussed.
