Dear colleagues!


The First of September - The Day of Knowledge - is the supreme Holiday
for all scientific-educational community.

I believe and hope that the magnitude of this Holiday, the value of
knowledge, perception and insight in every human's life will be constantly
increasing.

This year the Russian Rectors' Union celebrates the two milestones in
its history.

35 years ago, the forming of rectors unions of higher education
institutions had begun.

The role of this decision in the country's progress, in life of
higher education community, cannot be overestimated.

From the very first steps, the regional rector unions showed that they
represented the absolutely untypical, for the time, social associations,
able for consolidated actions and constructive work.







This year, we celebrate the 15 years of the founding of Russian
Rectors' Union, too.

What is unifying and strengthening our Union is, upon reflection, our
mutual concern.

Concern for education, concern for its higher level, concern for its
availability for every citizen of our country, concern for teachers and
those being taught, concern for the prestige of national education in the
world, concern, after all, for intellectual, spiritual and moral
development of our nation.
