UNCTIONAL POSSIBILITIES OF DEVELOPED INFORMATION PORTAL AND WEB-SITE OF THE SIEE RAS
- Representation of information (standard technologies of presentation in WEB, plus technologies of data visualization);
- Personalization (filters for concrete users and groups of users);
- Joint operation (technologies of team operation, such as WEB-conferences, IRC, libraries of sharing documents etc.);
- Publication and distribution (mechanisms of publication and subscription or the meanings of "forced delivery" of information);
- Search (full-text search and tools, which allows to seek for documents definition and other information filling);
- Categorization of information resources (tools for creation and maintenance of information resources categories, oriented to various audience);
- Integration (tools for access to distributed information sources, such as relational database, text documents, and also mechanisms providing import of information from external sources);
- Indexation of structured and unstructured data from file systems and database, WEB-servers and E-mail.
- The Institute is connected with the Internet on the basis of fiber-optic communication link, providing the access to external (including International) information and software resources. Local network with throughput of 100 Mbit on the basis of concentrator/commutator Eline (10/100Mbit) switch Networks consisted of more than 250 computers is available and also an external channel with the throughput of 100Mbit (under replacement of end hardware, its exploitation at speeds until 1 Gbit is possible) is present. This channel actualizes the connection with distributed resources of the Center of Scientific Telecommunications and Information Technologies of the RAS. Maximal speed of International traffic constitutes 4 Gbit.
