CONSERVATION OF RARE AND DISAPPEARING PLANTS AND ANIMALS AND SPECIES, HAVING A RESOURCES MAINTENANCE
Project is executed within the framework of the federal target research program of Russia's Ministry of science and technology "Studies and developments on priority directions of development of science and technology" on 2002-2006's. ("Oriented Applied studies").

COINVESTIGATORS:
- Zoological Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences;
- Botanical institute of Russian Academy of Sciences;
- State institution “Center of Harvesting Control” Ministries of the agriculture to Russian Federations;
- All Russian Research institutes of nature protection, Ministry of natural resources of Russian Federations.
GOALS: Development of technologies of conservation and artificial reproduction of rare and disappearing species of plants and animals and strategy of optimal use of the biological diversity and resources.
Main requirements to results:
- Choice of types, for which are developed technologies of conservation, must be scientifically and economically motivated;
- Technologies must be complex and include a method development of preseravtion of genetic material in collections and reservation,
- Reproducing the types in artificial conditions (nurseries, botanical gardens and etc) and their conservation in situ.
