Последствие великого взрыва Сверхновой в 1987 году Supernova 1987a Aftermath
21.06.1995

In 1987 a star in one of the Milky Way's satellite galaxies exploded. In 1994 the Hubble Space Telescope, in orbit around the earth, took a very detailed picture of the remnants of this explosion. This picture, above, showed unusual and unexpected rings, and astronomers are not sure how they formed.

Спиральная галактика M100 Spiral Galaxy M100
26.06.1995

The M100 galaxy is a large spiral galaxy similar to our own Milky Way, containing over 100 billion stars. It is over 150 million light years away, so the light we see left when dinosaurs roamed the Earth.

Сова и Галактика The Owl and the Galaxy

The Owl and the Galaxy sail these skies With blue and yellow star. They go together beneath the Big Dipper, If you wonder where they are. The Galaxy's light shines through the night, Ten millions of light-years away. But never fear the Owl is near, Inside the Milky Way.

Далекие галактики Distant Galaxies
22.06.1997

This Hubble Space Telescope image of a group of faint galaxies "far, far away" is a snap shot of the Universe when it was young. The bluish, irregularly shaped galaxies revealed in the image are up to eight billion light years away and seem to have commonly undergone galaxy collisions and bursts of star formation.

Пылевая галактика Кентавр А Dusty Galaxy Centaurus A
29.03.1997

One of the most unusual galaxies known, Centaurus A, is pictured above. Cen A is marked by dramatic dust lanes that run across the galaxy's center. These dust lanes are so thick they almost completely obscure the galaxy's center in visible light.

25.07.2018

These dark markings on the sky can just be found in silhouette against a rich, luminous background of stars. Seen toward the southern constellation of Lupus the Wolf, the dusty, obscuring clouds are part of the Lupus Molecular Cloud some 500 light-years distant.

What do you see when you look into this sky? In the center, in the dark, do you see a night sky filled with stars? Do you see a sunset to the left? Clouds all around? Do you see the central band of our Milky Way Galaxy running down the middle?

Миллионы звезд в Омега Центавра Millions of Stars in Omega Centauri
20.02.1996

Pictured above is the largest ball of stars in our Galaxy. About 10 million stars orbit the center of this globular cluster - named Omega Centauri - as this giant globular cluster orbits the center of our Galaxy.
