Innovative project of Samara scientists and developers of intelligent software systems won the fifth open competition of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, aimed at supporting of cooperation between universities and leading manufacturing centres of the country. The competition committee selected only 19 proposals among 118 applications filed.

Engineers of the Research and Production Company "Smart Solutions" together with the staff of the newly created SSAU laboratory "Intelligent Product Lifecycle Management Systems" will be engaged in creation of high-tech production on the basis of the Aerospace University. It will be headed by a recognized expert in the field of artificial intelligence and multi-agent technologies - Georgiy Rzhevskiy , Honorary Professor of Milton Keynes Open University (UK). It is planned that the project will involve about 30 SSAU graduate students and PhDs.

A new technology in the field of "artificial intelligence" - so-called multi-agent platform of adaptive planning will be created as a result of scientific, research and development works. It will manage the resources of enterprises in real time with minimum human involvement. Its use will reduce the cost of production, as well as reduce the time of its subsequent implementation. Industrial production of intelligent resource management systems in real time will be organized on the basis of the new technology.

Project implementation period is three years. The total cost of all works is estimated at 80 million roubles. Half of this amount will be involved as co-financing. Funds of state support which SSAU will receive for the project implementation is 40 million roubles. Start of work is scheduled for August 2014.

For reference. It is worth noting that this is the fourth SSAU project to create high-tech industries, which received financial support from Government of the Russian Federation.

Within a framework of events on development of cooperation between Russian universities and industrial enterprises the following SSAU projects received state support and were successfully implemented:

• 2010 - a project to create a line of gas turbine engines (in conjunction with JSC "Kuznetsov").

• 2012 - a project to create the production of small spacecrafts based on "Aist" (together with State Scientific and Production Space and Missile Centre “Central Specialised Construction Bureau Progress”).

• 2013 - a project to create an effective design technology and high-tech production of high-capacity gas turbine engines for ground power units (together with "Smith").
