Çâåçäà Âîëüôà-Ðàéå WR 124: ìàøèíà çâåçäíîãî âåòðà APOD: 2025 February 3 Á Wolf Rayet Star 124: Stellar Wind Machine
3.02.2025

Some stars explode in slow motion. Rare, massive Wolf-Rayet stars are so tumultuous and hot that they are slowly disintegrating right before our telescopes. Glowing gas globs each typically over 30 times more massive than the Earth are being expelled by violent stellar winds.

Ïðåêðàñíàÿ Òðåõðàçäåëüíàÿ òóìàííîñòü APOD: 2025 July 9 Á A Beautiful Trifid
9.07.2025

The beautiful Trifid Nebula is a cosmic study in contrasts. Also known as M20, it lies about 5,000 light-years away toward the nebula rich constellation Sagittarius. A star forming region in the plane...

Ïîñëåñâå÷åíèå ãàììà-âñïëåñêà: ñâÿçü ñî ñâåðõíîâîé Gamma Ray Burst Afterglow: Supernova Connection
5.04.2002

What causes the mysterious gamma-ray bursts? Indicated in this Hubble Space Telescope exposure of an otherwise unremarkable field in the constellation Crater, is the dwindling optical afterglow of a gamma-ray burst first detected by the Beppo-SAX satellite on 2001 December 11.

Êîìåòà Òåìïåëÿ-Òóòòëÿ - êîìåòà Ëåîíèä Tempel Tuttle: The Leonid Comet
16.11.2002

Star trails streak this composite time exposure of comet Tempel-Tuttle recorded by Tim Puckett on January 26, 1998. Then passing through the inner solar system on its 33 year orbit around the Sun, Tempel-Tuttle brightened unexpectedly, but binoculars or small telescopes were still required to visually observe it.

Ñêðûòîå øàðîâîå çâåçäíîå ñêîïëåíèå Glimpse of a Globular Star Cluster
14.10.2004

Not a glimpse of this cluster of stars can be seen in the inset visible light image (lower right). Still, the infrared view from the Spitzer Space Telescope reveals a massive globular star cluster of about 300,000 suns in an apparently empty region of sky in the constellation Aquila.

Íà äâóõ âíåñîëíå÷íûõ ïëàíåòàõ îáíàðóæåíû àòìîñôåðû Atmospheres Detected on Two Extrasolar Planets
27.02.2007

Do extrasolar planets have water? In an attempt to find out, the orbiting Spitzer Space Telescope made detailed observations of the atmospheres of two planets that orbit stars other than our Sun. Unfortunately, water vapor was not detected in either exoplanet.

Ïàíîðàìà òóìàííîñòè Êèëÿ îò òåëåñêîïà Õàááëà Carina Nebula Panorama from Hubble
25.04.2007

In one of the brightest parts of Milky Way lies a nebula where some of the oddest things occur. NGC 3372, known as the Great Nebula in Carina, is home to massive stars and changing nebula.

Îïàñíîå ëåòî íà HD 80606b A Dangerous Summer on HD 80606b
4.02.2009

On the distant planet HD 80606b, summers might be dangerous. Hypothetic life forms floating in HD 080606b's atmosphere or lurking on one of its (presently hypothetical) moons might fear the 1,500 Kelvin summer heat, which is hot enough not only to melt lead but also nickel.

Îñòàòîê ñâåðõíîâîé Êîðìà À Supernova Remnant Puppis A
12.09.2014

Driven by the explosion of a massive star, supernova remnant Puppis A is blasting into the surrounding interstellar medium about 7,000 light-years away. At that distance, this remarkable false-color exploration of its complex expansion is about 180 light-years wide.

Òóìàííîñòü Êðàñíûé ïðÿìîóãîëüíèê îò òåëåñêîïà èì.Õàááëà The Red Rectangle Nebula from Hubble
9.05.2018

How was the unusual Red Rectangle nebula created? At the nebula's center is an aging binary star system that surely powers the nebula but does not, as yet, explain its colors. The unusual...
